Join Alan LePage and Jung Kim for a workshop that will provide both the practical aspects of making Korean-style kimchi (tools and ingredients) and the less tangible but invaluable musings of a lifelong farmer from Central Vermont. After a few hours with Jung and Alan, you will walk away with jars of kimchi for your family and a recipe to reuse in future years.
Jungwoo (Jung) Kim was born and raised in South Korea, where her family made kimchi traditionally all year round. She moved to the States in 2013, with her husband and her son. Because there was not much Korean food around in Vermont, it made her realize the value of Korean food and the traditions of her own culture and values. Since then she has learned more from her mom and found her family recipes to experiment with making kimchi by herself.
Alan LePage is an organic original, 7th generation farmer, and pioneer of the organic agricultural movement in Vermont.
